I recently sent my PM Kirsten to the Chicago Doll Hospital to have her head replaced, poor dear. She was an ebay find, and a very sick little girl. This was before I found you all the the message board. Now you have all inspired me to try and 'rebuild' her with love, and keep her PM with new hair. Only problem, I called the hospital today in hopes she was still there, and she's sitting on the shipping dock, waiting to come home! I asked the personal shopper, if they could possibly find her original 'noggin' and send it with her. Believe it or not, they went looking, and it will arrive in another shipment! I don't know if that's a good thing, or just creepy...What do you think?

update: I just got a call from the Hospital, because Kirsten's new head color didn't match the limbs, they changed those too, at no charge. They called to see if I wanted all the limbs back too. What a great place!

This is going to sound dumb, but I'm really glad you posted this! I have a PM AGT who I want to get a new head for, but I really want to keep the old one, as well. I remember when we got a new head for my Samantha, we asked them to send the old head back, they told us they didn't do that. I thought that was pretty weird! What do they DO with the heads? Anyway, I'm glad they told you that they'd send the head separately, this gives me hope they'll do the same when I send this doll in.

I don't think it's creepy at all. Most people here seem against sending a doll to the hospital, personally, I don't care if a doll is PM, I just want to enjoy my dolls as much as possible, and if a new head will help that, then so be it, I'll get a new head

And just think, you can even switch the heads around when you rewig the old Kirsten head, and pretty much have 2 dolls !

Be sure you tell them, in really BIG BOLD letters to send her old head back, or they won't. Also, you might want to ask the board if there is someone here who can re-wig her for you, and you won't have to send her to the Hospital?

The Hospital specifically says "same doll only" if you only sent in a body, you could claim it was any doll...Lindsey, Kailey...Elizabeth.. If someone tries this...let us know what happens.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">LOL!!!!!!! I think they'd ask for proof if you tried to say you had Kailey or Lindsey.

But thinking about it, you could always buy one of the two on ebay, and get another AG doll, a fixer upper on ebay, and switch the heads, and have AG send you a new Kailey/Lindsey doll head over and over and sell a whole bunch of dolls on ebay with different bodies! LOL

I was wondering if you couldn't just send a doll in without it's head. You are going to pay for the new head, and technically, don't you already own the old head? It doesn't seem like they would have the right to keep the old head if you want it. Just a thought....
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">It does seem QUITE unfair that they told me we couldn't keep her old head. I mean, you paid 100 bucks for the doll and then another 40 for a new head. You should get to have both for the prices!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Those 3 all have body tags. Don't body tags have a code on them telling which doll they are?

Plus I am almost 100% certain the newest dolls have a tag inside the body telling which head it had. I KNOW Mattel Bitty Babies do (I was restuffing one and found a tag sewn inside with the order code)

They know thier products and I am guessing If I were to send in my VERY PM Felicity body headless that I could probably say it was Samantha , Kirsten, or Molly, but not any of the newer dolls because it has the pink body. So even if you tried this, you couldn't get away with much.

While we're on this topic, what about the seconds they sell at the Madison sale? Their bums are marked with a "x", so they're not covered by the same standard of service since they're "seconds." Say your "second" develops silver eye. What's to keep you from swapping bodies and sending her in for an eye replacement?

This does not sound weird at all! Whe I dropped off Cynthia Diane at hospital admissions at AGPC. I was unsure as to whether I was going to change her head. I specifically asked if I did could they return the originl head. The admissions clerk told me yes.

I subsequently decided not to change her head at AGPLC and when the hospital called me after her admission. I have a very sentimental attachment to her as she was my first AG doll. I got her from Ebay and she was abused. I just had her have a well visit and sent home. She came home looking beautiful! I was going to re-wig her, but I am going to keep her as she is. I just love her the way she is!

I wonder if you send them in for a body replacement, would they put an x on the new body? Personally, I would get one of the knock off dolls from ebay or target, and switch the head, if it were such a big deal. I, however, don't spend much time contemplating the ladies rear ends. I'd rather look at their smiles

Kirsten just got home in time for dinner tonight! Her previous head was in another box. I've decided to put her old head on a 'my generation' doll, and make her into an 80's Madonna! see, the 80's was 'my generation'. I'll let you all know how it goes. So far the wig is off!
